About Crefo-Factoring Nord GmbH

An independent, Hamburg-based resource on factoring and receivables financing

We exist to help business owners and finance professionals understand invoice-based financing in plain language, without sales pressure or paid services attached.

Crefo-Factoring Nord GmbH does not itself sell, broker, or arrange factoring or any paid financial service. All content on this site is provided for general informational purposes only.

Our purpose

Why we built this resource

Factoring and receivables financing are often misunderstood, sometimes seen as a last resort, sometimes oversold as a universal fix for cash flow problems. Neither view is particularly useful to a business owner trying to make an informed decision.

Crefo-Factoring Nord GmbH was created to fill that gap: a plain-language, vendor-neutral explanation of how these financing arrangements typically work, the terminology involved, and the kinds of questions worth asking before approaching a provider.

We are based in Hamburg, a city with a long trading and shipping history, and much of our content reflects the perspective of logistics, wholesale, and manufacturing businesses that commonly encounter receivables financing.

Principles behind our content

Vendor neutral

We describe how factoring arrangements generally work rather than promoting any specific provider, product, or fee structure.

Plain language first

We try to explain financial and legal terminology in everyday language before introducing more technical detail.

No paid services

This website does not process payments, applications, or agreements. It is an editorial resource, not a financial service provider.

Our team

Who maintains this website

Our small editorial team follows developments in trade finance, invoice financing, and SME lending across Germany and the wider European market. We periodically review our articles and FAQs to keep terminology and explanations current.

We are not a bank, licensed lender, or regulated financial institution, and we do not claim to be one. If a topic requires a regulated professional's judgement, such as tax treatment, legal enforceability, or a specific credit decision, we say so directly and encourage you to consult a qualified advisor.

  • Editorial review of published content
  • Clear labelling when a topic needs professional advice
  • No hidden sponsorship of specific factoring providers
